SPIDF out on the MPC1k

i swear i looked through the whole manual and could not find a way to assign pads to this out, or even get the main mix out through here. anybody done it before?

if this is a newbie question, feel free to fry me up.

spdif will only output the stereo mix...read the manual, everything you need to know howto set up that spdif out is written in there!!!

I had to mess around with my sound card settings and switch the Master Clock option to external

Your settings might be totally different though

so the MP clocks the comp? is that only the case when the MP is the master of the comp?

by the way, there is no detailed explaination on this in the manual.

I'm not sure about that, i was just playing with the settings of the sound card.

I think it's more ot do with the internal clock of the sound card rather than the MPC itself.

My understanding is that if you use SPDIF you have to have the MPC as the master clock source or you will get jitter and other weird behaviour.

With my Delta 1010 and MPC connected through SPDIF I am lucky if I can get the Delta to recognize the external SPDIF clock. I don't know if its the Delta or the MPC that has the problem but it seems 50% of the time I cannot get the Delta to sync to the MPCs clock, you may have more luck.

Yep, since on the MPC you cannot select the clock source, you must set the other digital clocks to sync to the MPC.
