heh. I don't have enough info about this to create a bug report, and technically it's probably not even a bug with the MPC...
Last night I was transferring some stuff to/from my MPC1k over the USB connection. I had two transfers going at once, dragging over two folders from my Windows XP Pro desktop. Suddenly, for the first time *ever*, I had a bluescreen of death on my Windows box, with reference to "fastfat.sys".
I rebooted, connected the MPC again, but as soon as it made the "doo-DOOP!" sound indicating that there was a new USB device found, the machine bluescreened again, with the same error.
Fortunately I had done a full backup of that card not 20 minutes earlier, so I formatted the CF card in the MPC, rebooted my PC, and tried again... and this time it was totally fine. I transferred over my backup, and had no further problems.
I *always* make sure the device is unmounted before unplugging the USB cable, I'm very careful about that. I've never seen this happen before - has anyone else?
