Resetting Flash Memory

I never came to ask yet but i read it's bad for your mpc to turn it off and on all the time and that's exactly what I do when I wanna start a new beat... i just don't know any other way how to clear my flash memory. i hope akai does not pull these dirty "ipod-tricks" on their customers... anyone can enlighten me?

even if it is a stupid question at least give me an answer... almost everybody in here is a mpc user and nobody knows how to unload your flash memory?

well, that'd be your RAM not your flash memory. 'ipod-tricks'?

now that you bring it up, i can't think of any hardware sampler or sequencer that lets you clear it's internal memory with the push of a button. thankfully you can just hit 'clear' when loading programs to overwrite whatever is in there and it's easy to just delete sequences, unless you've got a ton of them in there at the time. just easier to turn it off/on then...

i dont mean compactflash just flash like ram

it's not a problem with loading other projects but only when i wanna make a new one. i cant imagine its a good thing to turn it on and off all the time, especially not with the harddisk i put in it.
