MPC1000 and FL Studio Together

Quick question for those that may be able to assist me. I usually use my MPC with Reason, which works perfect because I use it strictly as a sound module and record the midi notes into the mpc. This way, the sequencer is not moving at all on Reason, and when i record into protools everything works fine. I have some VST's ( Trilogy being my main one ) that I want to utilize as well. However, if you were ever a Reaon user you know my pain there. Well I am trying to use these vsts now through FL Studio the same way I do with Reason, but I cant for the life of me figure out how to use FL Studio just as a sound bank. Everytime I press record/play on the moc it starts FL Studios sequencer, which I DO NOT want. Is there a way to stop the sequencer from starting and just use the channels as sound banks the same way you do with Reason? I hope I am wording this well.

which version of FL are you running?

Im running 6. I have messed with the midi sync and different settings, but to no avail. Eveytime you press play/record on the mpc the sequencer starts on FL instead of the mpc just triggering the channel on fl and recording the midi to the mpc like in does in reason. In reason, there is that Enable Sync bottom that allows Reasons sequencer to run along with the MPC, but I cant find this kind of option on FL to turn it off.

why not just play the beat on the mpc then find the melody u want then just sample it into the mpc.that way your more mobile with your mpc so u can say bring your mpc anywhere and have your beat there.thats what evrybody i know does.but they have keyboarsd[1 has the triton another has the phantom6]and they just i guess u can say sample shit from there into mpc....works though

No, i know how to do all that. There is no reason for me to bring my mpc anywhere, so that is a waste of time for me. It doesnt leave my studio. There should be a simple feature that allows me to do this, I just haven't figured it out yet. Either that, or you simply can't achieve this using FL Studio the same way you can with Reason.

hey there -- i've actually been trying to do the same thing for a while now and i just figured it out last night, though it's a total f**king pain in the neck. basically, as far as i can tell, you can't do this with just FL studio because when running FL studio as a standalone, you cannot set each channel in FL studio to correspond to a MIDI channel -- FL studio will only take whatever MIDI input is coming in and direct it to the channel that you have activated at the time. there's no way to do what you can do in reason -- specify channel 1 --> FL slicer, channel 2 --> boobass or whatever. so... you can't do this with just FL studio.

BUT! you can do it if you run FL studio as a plug-in within a sequencer, as long as the sequencer you're using supports MIDI. i tried it with tracktion and it worked fine, and i'm guessing it works just as well in cubase/logic/whatever. basically, open it up as a plugin. set up the midi preferences within your sequencer to respond to the midi input from your MPC (this depends on the sequencer you use). then each channel will respond to a separate MIDI channel. it's a bit primitive -- the first channel responds to MIDI channel 1, second to MIDI channel 2, etc etc. but it's ok because it works!!!

one problem is that i haven't been able to get midi sync to work, but it sounds like that's not a big deal to you. besides, i think that's only a problem because tracktion doesn't support midi sync, so if you use a sequencer which supports midi sync, then i think you'd be golden.

man, i havent used fl in a while but i seem to remember a variety of midi and mapping options- im surprised it wont do multi-channel assignment the way u want...

also, re: the first question how bout going to the midi page on the mpc and setting sync out to None
