MPC as sound module?

Hi,

i'd like to try this:

i've got

a yamaha rm1x
a micro-korg
a mpc1k
apple logic + logic control
some midi-keyboard + 4x4 interface
creamware audio-device 18 i/o

i want logic to be the main sequencer (for producing), mpc, rm1x and micro-korg work as sound modules.
because in my live-setup mpc is the main sequencer (of course : ) i only use the midi-tracks of logic to trigger the hardware. i want to record the midi-data (if neccessary track by track) to the mpc. then i can switch the mac off and press play on the mpc.
this setup is powerful, because i can use all the comfortable features of computer-based sequencing (matrix/step sequencing, etc) AND the mpc-pads.

my question is:
can i trigger the mpc "multi-tracked" (not only the active track recieves midi-data but all tracks i selected) ?
i know how to define multi-instruments in logic. so i should be able to route the 16 tracks of the multi-instrument to 16 midi-channels and send them to the mpc just like i did with the rm1x... but i miss a setting in the mpc for each track to define the midi-in channel for that track.
in germany this is called "multitimbral" i dont actually know the english expression for this but i hope you know what i mean.

this would be my "perfect" producing suite - with my creamware audio card (18 i/o), 3DSP, i can route all audio sources (korg, rm1x, mpc individual outs) where i want and use extended vst/creamware-fx.
my mac comes via sp/dif into the mpc so i can sample some ambient/synth that comes from logic / soft synths. Also i sometimes resample samples coming from the mpc after software fx-processing.
I don't use a notebook for live-acts because a suitable powerbook is too expensive (you will need a firewire audio-device also)... and if my setup i described above works i don't really need a notebook also.

The mpc can only be triggered from midi to play back any 1 program at a given time afaik.

^ yup. mpc1000 is meant to be the brain...it only functions as a very simple module.

i think you should sequence from the mpc, not logic...save logic for when you track your finished songs out and want to mix em on a visual level.

Logic, or any DAW for that matter, will also make note-by-note velocity and timing information easier to change at a detail level. MPC can give you control over most of these functions, but it's just not as simple.

I program damn near every beat on the MPC, whether I'm using softsynths or hardware or just the MPC, and if it uses any MIDI data and I want to do some detail editing, I dump it down to Cubase and tweak it there.

MPC kills everything else when it comes to laying down a beat fast, (among other things) but it's not so hot at quickly editing on a detail level.

I'm sure I'll get some arguments to that, but that's me.

haha i'd argue that. to each his own, but i'd rather edit on a detail level on the mpc than on the pc...and i come from a pc background first.

no but you could use something like cdxtract to read the .pgm file and convert it to whatever sampler instrument
your sequencer uses (exs, nki, fxp, sf2 etc)
