computer crashes when connecting the mpc

hey when im connecting the mpc to the laptop via usb, my laptop crashes, it does the blue screen thing "power failure yaddayadayadda"....
ive seen something about that before, any ideas why thats happening?
any cures?
it happens once its connected and i browse the samples ..

what version windows are you running?

runing XP
it worked before, i must have done something to make it unhappy...
i know the workaround (get a flash card reader) but i dont have one here,,,, now!
any ideas then brightsparq?

tell me the exact steps you are doing right before the blue screen....

how do you have it connected? do you have the CF card in the mpc before or after you tried connecting? how are disconnecting from the computer? etc....

have you tried to do it on another computer?

did you recently upgrade or install something on your computer since the last time this worked?

have you tried rebooting your computer and tried again to connect your mpc?

have you tried a different usb port on your computer?

hey, i was working on some tasty flute samples and saved them to compact flash, but wanted to assign them to pads faster using bluebox, (never used it before )
but there must have been a folder error... whatever... as I re-saved it in a different folder, new name etc and works fine.

I thought it was a laptop screw up but plugged into this desktop and it did the same (when i was browsing in that particular folder!)
