I have this problem whenever I set the RELEASE on the amp envelope of any ONE SHOT sample to any value above 10-12: at the moment of release the sample plays some other sample, usually filtered or pitched up, it is difficult to tell.
Anybody experienced the same?
The bug is quite obvious is you use a rather a long sample 5-8 secs) and set the release to 100. There is defintely something else playing at the end.
I feel this is related to Jessiah's glitch, as it sounds similar.

Problem is that with this bug it is impossible to fade out a sample on the MPC1000.

for long samples i usually just automate the mixer and use the qlinks.

This has been brought up before:
http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?p=401452

I've sent Sparq a PM back then, he said he reported it to Akai.
This bug is annoying as hell and should be taken out as soon as possible.
Amp Env was working fine in 1.0.7 so why this bug in 2.1? It's not even a new feature...

I have experienced the same problem. I thought I was making a mistake as I am new to the MPC (but not synths/samplers), but after looking more closely it really seems to be a genuine problem. I am running OS 2.10.

Anyway glad I found this forum. There is a great vibe here and a lot of useful info... thanks ! Just got my 1K a few weeks ago and straight away updated it from 1.07 to 2.10. It totally froze ... scary ... but fortunately found the 'Shift-Erase at startup' tip here and everything was good.

Pendulum.

You can fade out a single sample with mixer automation? seems quite a tedious process, but if it is the only way....
I'm pretty much pissed at this because, as was mentioned by some other dude here, the envelopes worked fine with OS1.7 and the few additional enevlope controls they've added with OS2.1 don't compensate this annoying bug.

i don;t think he means mixer automation like ur thinking, just recording the q-links set to volume.

that won't work if you wanbt to crossfade into the beginning of the sample: volume changes will aplly to the beginning of the second occureence of the sample.

Thankfully the envelope release settings work fine in NOTE ON mode, which is what I use mainly.

Still, a very strange bug...
