Hey I prolly am doing sumthing wrong but-- I had a 8 bar stereo loop and decided to use the slice function. I sliced it into 8 parts and had the MPC make a new program. Then when I played the samples in the new program they were all mono. huh? I must have missed somthing. any tips? I've looked around a bit at the manual and done a search.

If you want to keep the sample in stereo you have to chop it manually using the Extract function in TRIM > Edit.
Any use of the Slice function merge the sample into mono.

Edit: According to the OS 2.1 PDF-manual, page 69 the channels are not merged. The slice function only uses the left channel.

Wow that's bit strange that they did that.

My moments with the 1K are limited yet valued so I appreciate your help.

thanks a lot dude.

I´m not sure if your talkin bout this but...
Every time you create new program with the slice function it will create it as a mono program, so go to PROGRAM and then PARAMS then change MONO to POLY

nah ridgestone he's talking about channels, not voices. good tip though, he probably will benefit from that bit of knowledge as well, albeit random.
