i dont know if its been covered but here goes... it would be awesome if you could assign the channels in the mixer ie... instead of one mixer channel for each pad (1-16, banks A-D) how about being able to assign the channels to Tracks with in sequences? is this at all possible? could it be implemented? i know it would make things nice for me but how would it effect you?

give me your thoughts...

it'd be nice, but see that kind of stuff is best done in a daw. trying to make a daw out of the 1000 is a waste of time and features, in my opinion. i'd MUCH rather do that kind of stuff on my computer than on the 1000. the mpc is for composition and building, not for mastering, track fades, etc....

actually it would be cool if you could assign track to assignable out...but you can kinda already do that via each pad. w/e.

Nym that was my main reason for the idea, as i'm lazy and dont use one program for one song or convert my seperate programs into one... it was just for the level of stuff and tracking things out that i would like the idea... but right now if you use multiple .pgm's and you turn the level up/down on say pad A6, because you have multiple .pgms's goin it'll alter the level of whatever sounds you have on that pad in your various .pgms that are in your sequence, the same for panning... but if you could assign tracks to the channels then there isn't a problem there... thank you Nym for your honest answer, much appreciated

thank you Mr I3rown for your deep and thoughtful insight and the evidence that you provided to back up your claim was indisputable... lol

fed one thing i've learned to do, and it's saved me LOADS of time, is to keep 1 pgm on the same track throughout all my seqs. i no longer change up pgms when i move from seq to seq. this might help you in the long run with what you're trying to accomplish.

Ok mate...lets think about it.

what do you gain by assigning an entire track to one output?

1. all sounds coming out of one mono channel.
2. no scalable ability to control volumes or eq accordingly.

sorry but its a nice idea untill you think about the practicality of it.
its not the most ideal working environment to have.

nice idea in my opinion,
......i wanna work on trax recorded with 8 pads for ex. and it's a pain in the ass to give reverb, asign the outputs, using the sliders..etc.
it would be very useful to do this kind o things directly on trax instead of each pad........

as i said, i'm a little lazy... lol... sometimes we work from already made .pgms and its tedious when you assign each seperate sound to one .pgm to another, then goin into ya step edit and changing the pads that are triggered... good points though Nym... i bought a new sound card to speed up my work flow, it has 10 in 10 out... thats all i'm interested in, getting my ideas together as quick as possible before i lose my vibe...

i was not talking about assigning an entire track to an output (not quite yet anyway) i was suggesting tracks be assignable in the mpc mixer page (just as an extra option, another tool... you may find a use for it)...
to answer your first point, in the mixer window when assigning a "mixer channel" to any of the 6 outputs you have the options "ST", "3-4" and "5-6" to make it mono you have to pan it hard right or hard left or set the play mode in the programs menu to mono...
as for your 2nd point... whats the mixer for?.... to control the output signal of a sound source, theres ya volumes right there... as for EQ how about how about a parametric page for each strip?...lol but i guess that all depends if the lil blue beasts processor could hack that...
