In many peoples backwoods there seem to be a saying that sums up like: "If you have the ability to find the answers, but you can let someone else do it for you, don´t bother"
Wouldn´t the concept of an online forum where people can exchange tips, ideas and experiences with each other be pretty useless if the main purpose of that forum was to explain to people what the manual says just because people don´t want to or is to lazy to read their manuals?
We could have a place where you get help with hardware acting funny or problems with OS bugs and workarounds for them. A place where people can exchange experiences and tricks that are on a more musical and productionbased level than the cold handling of the unit and it´s functions. This forum is, and could be an ever greater source of skills and knowledge as old time producers, computer techies and mad weedsmokers are lined side by side, complementing each others skills. Turning the forums into a online, interactive manual would ruin it´s strengths and complexity.
People have a manual, otherwise they could download it. We have a newbie forum. This, and a thousand other questions of the same basic kind has already been answered several times on the forums, that´s what the search function is for.
Don´t pollute the forums, this line of questioning is the digital equivalence to dog turds in the streets.
