"wrong file" when trying to load

I have the blue mpc 1000 with 2.10 and 40gb hard disk. When I save pgms and seqs everything is fine sometimes I can load them fine but after a while I will get a message "wrong file" which is starting to f**k me off big time now as I cannot get to most of my songs or pgms.

Would my folder system to be to blame or is it simply a bug because I have folders in the root and files in the root folder but it can happen to any random seq or pgm never samples.

I just found there is a new update bout to try it so if it works

I've run into the same problem, but on samples primarily. This is on an MPC1000 with the 2.1 OS, no HD (yet) and was happening before and after I upped it to 128 megs of ram. It seems like the sample still gets loaded into ram, it just makes it a hassle to hit cancel and be unable to assign them directly to a pad.

another thing is that its really anoying is that u cant prelisten these samples..

My theory is that these files are wrong type of waves.. Don't know for shure though.

Definately wrong type of wav

my bad..i found out that all the samples that couldnt be prelistened was 24 bit..converting and overwriting with the prg swith has solved all probs..

how exactly do you do that? I have the same problem. I can't save anything new I do on my mpc, no programs or samples it always says the file already exists, and when I replace that and save it and then later try and load it, it always says "wrong file." how do I see what bit the samples are and change that? thanks for your help
