i was watchin the pete rock video with his mpc 2000 and he sampled somthin and speeded it without changing tha pitch , can i do this wit the mpc 1000 , if i can , can anyone tell me cuz i sorta need to do that with my samples.

this is timestretching. it's in the trim page under edit. it's also a rtfm, but so it goes.

you can do it with time stretching, but I think what you were watching was him chopping, and yes v2.1 does do this.

well, say you have 1 sample of 4 quarter notes. let's say 4 chords of a piano, each a quarter note long.

find out their original tempo however you like (i like to program the sample in and adjust the tempo until it loops just right) and remember that tempo. plug that into original tempo, and then put whatever tempo you want for the 2nd option. select the closest option for the timestretching type and then hit do it. be sure to listen to your new sample to make sure it's not too "stretchy" sounding.

also in timestretching wut are those other extra stuff , can you tell me wut do i do with em and wut i need to use em in stretching the beat? thanks :D
