REC GAIN or Pre-Amp?

yo whats good people

im curious as to what the better of the two would be- qwuality wise?

i know sometimes using or maxing a pre-amp can add alot of unnecessary hiss. currently i have my record player going into my behringer mixer, if you knwo anything of behringers, you cant max out the pre-amp unless you want some company.

i was hoping to accompany this with the REC GAIN knob - find a balance between the two.

so is it ok to near max out the REC GAIN? or should i use a pre-amp?

either way i need to boost up the line levels.

I'll be back to my mpc in a day or 2, when i get home, i got madd ideas, so when i get to it i wanna get down to business, no playing around. so im looking for advice ahead of time

If that Behringer is not a DJ mixer, you'll definitely come across some noise problems using the preamp. If that's all you have, then use the preamps and keep the EQ flat, while boosting a hot enough signal without clipping. Adjust your record gain on your MPC accordingly. If you're still getting too much noise, then buy a cheap DJ mixer.

No.
Flat is in the middle, which is zero. Anything to the left would be in the negative (cut), and anything in the right would be positive (boost).
