Though ive always been a commited ad searcher when it comes to studio gear i recently got myself a new mpc 1000. Thought id buy one of the last of the blue ones whilst retailers were selling them off to make way for the more polite  looking bk.

What turned up (for some reason) was a bk which was ok by me really but it has two little annoying problems. 1) a couple of tiny dings to the paint at the very front. and 2) the right hand plastic side thing is a bit wobbly, and a just seems less tidy than the left one. Id shrug off the little dings but the side bothers me a bit though i doubt itd really be a problem in use. The company i got it from said they d replace it but that they have none in stock at the moment (im in the uk)

So what id like to ask you all is: am i a picky b*stard (ie are 1ks built in a way that makes this problem common) or should i enter into what im sure will be a long wait for a replacement?

btw the 1k itself is f*cking stunning, useable and just a tiny bit sexier than anything ive owned since my asr10 days.

oh and hello to you all.

i'd unscrew the side and then put it back on. see if the plastic itself is warped, which it probably is not.

as for the dings, heh i sanded all my paint off so a couple dings probably won't hurt you. i've got light rust growing on my 1k, and couldn't be more pleased.

haha a rusty old 1k

the way the side panel is screwed in is most likely what your problem is

like nym sayd - take it off - put it back on.

Mine had a scratch near the back screw as well as pads that werent totaly responsive. I lived with it and then decided to just send it back. I wanted a bk one anyways.

i might as well. i live with this thing.

the rust looks badass, it's just minor, nothing is eaten. just slight "coloration" where i sanded the paint away. really badass, looks like a gladiator's weaponry.
