Just picked up a 1000....
Is it possible to change the velocity of a sample (not the pad)?
For example if I have a sampled phrase that I want to speed up
so that it plays back faster than it was recorded......

Also, what are the additions in the upgraded 2.0 and whats the easiest way to upgrade to it?

Thanks for your patience folks.

i really don't know if you wana change velocity or the tempo. but as u say speed i think it must be tempo........so
-go to TRIM MODE and select the desired sample
-press f6 EDIT and turn data wheel to find TIMESTRETCH.
-fill the tempo fields as needed (if u don't know the tempo of your sample then u use f2 TEMPO to find out)
-DO IT.
(don`t forget to save the sample)
...check the stickies, sparq videos are very helpful.

about OS, u can get 2.1
it has a lot of nice features....... a must have.

Thanks for the help.
I wanted to speed up the tempo.

One more quick question, whats the best way to save all
of my samples (at once) when I shut down (yes I have the flash card)?

I tried to change the tempo but after pressing f6 edit
and turning the data wheel there was no option for timestretch.
Do I need V2.1 for this option?

Thanks,

You have to upgrade to 2.1 to have the ability to timestretch.

I followed the akai websites instructions for upgrading to V2.1 and
when I power on my mpc (holding the window key),
it tells me, "a correct OS file wasn't found. begin loading standard os
in 5 seconds..."

Please help.

Thank you,

P

P.S. I've got a mac so if that give any clues.........

Did you try installing (reverting to) the old OS and then the new OS again?

make sure the .bin file is on the root and not in a folder.

or, hit Window from the trim page and change the master tuning of the sample...

that just speeds&pitches it up 'turntable style'
