MPC1000BK Owners

Just picked up my first MPC...a 1000BK. The first thing I did was download the 2.10 software update because I figured that this was the logical thing to do. Word is...the 1000BK already had the update installed. After I did this I couldn't load samples.

I had to revert back to the 1.07 OS to get samples to load. Any effort to update to 2.10 is greeted by a blank screen and the inability to even load any OS!

WTF is going on with this? Are the updates inherent in the hardware of the newer 1000 or what??? Anyone who could spread some knowledge...please chime in. I'm not going to be very happy if I don't have a delay feature on my drum machine...

The MPC1000BK comes preloaded with OS 2.00 IIRC and needs to be updated to 2.10. The blank screen is fixed by either powering up the MPC with the Erase key held down or, if that doesn't fix it, try pressing Shift and turning the Data wheel to restore the LCD contrast.

No problem loading samples here with OS 2.10, so not sure about that one.
