midi keyboard and mpc??

What's the advantage of useing a midi keyboard with the mpc 1k if u can just use the keyboard with reason and do the same things?

because u can't "do the same things"

it sounds to me like you are asking the difference between reason and an mpc??

the list is long, but importantly:
-reason has more built-in sounds and synth stuff, mpc you sample your own sounds
-mpc has arguably a cooler sequencer which can send midi to other gear
-mpc has a hands-on interface, no mouse clicking
-they both do sampling, but with reason you have to record audio with another program

You have to use an MPC to understand this.

I didn't think it would make such a difference, i was on Cubase and Reason before and it pissed me off big time.

But the MPC is SOOOOOO much nicer for sequencing, you feel more connected to your music and can really get into a groove with it.

In my opinion any way.

I was kinda wondering about this as well. But my question revolves around my actual keyboard.

I have an couple year old Yamaha DGX-202 and i want to hook it up. Once i hook it up i should be able to steal sounds that are already programmed into the keyboard, right? Or can i only use it as a midi controller?

It's at a friends house and i haven't had a chance to hook it up yet.

You can use it as an midi controller, use it to add instruments to your mpc, or sample sounds from it into the mpc.
