got some samples that sound great rearranged in a particular order. the prob is that the original sample has very strong drums. not a prob where a snare in the sample hits a snare in my drum pattern, but the particular sequence ive made, the snare in the sample (its a guitar sample from a old soul song) falls where my kick in my drum pattern is. what im trying to do is eq/filter sample to reduce the snare as much as pos so that the guitar in the sample can b heard over the snare (if that makes sense) so that when i put the sequence with my own drum pattern, my kick isnt overshadowed by the snare in the guitar sample (hope this makes snese). so far ive cut the bass freq in the guitar sample so that the kick in my drum set can b more definitive.
just wondering (on a real general note here) which freq r usually good to cut/boost to try and minimise a typical heavy snare or if any particular effects /settings could b useful. i know i cant fully cut the snare from the sample, but any tips on reducing the snare and bringing out the guitar would b much appeciated.
obviously it would b best to hear the particular sample, but im just looking for just general speculative tips here. cheers
