how do you turn note off so u decide how long a sample plays

I was just wonderin how do u turn note off so depending on how long u hold the pad then the sample will play the same?

I´ll help you by clearing out that what you are asking for is referred to as NOTE OFF on the MPC 1000 (I´ve understood it goes as Note Off on older MPC´s).
The rest you could easily find in the manual, Program chapter is a good place to start looking.

I think Ryssen meant NOTE ON on the MPC 1000, NOTE OFF on older models.
