MPC-1000 Swing

Is the quantize swing defaultly set to 50% on the MPC-1000??

Yes. 50% = no swing.

I guess what I mean is why wouldn't they just make no swing at 0%??? Whats the significance behind it being 50%??

I agree, people on here are damn right arrogant......show a little peace and love people!

50% is straight, anything minus that would be beats placed ahead, anything after would be late, 0% wouldn't allow you to swing both ways (sounds gay i know) but from that explanation i'm sure you see what Akai meant

50% means that the swung notes are placed exactly halfway(50/50) between the 2 surrounding notes... thus 50% is evenly spaced and means no swing.
