Thought the title would fit this thread.

Anyway, Im a previous 1000 owner, now a 2000xl owner. There is a noticable difference between the two. One offers things that the other doesnt and vice versa. I want to add a 1000 back to my list of arsenal without breaking the bank.

What and where are some good spots to check for used 1000's besides the obvious. e-bay?

ebay's best. it's the real market. people on craiglist are trying to get too close to what they paid for becuase they're relatively new, but they don't realize depreciation.

mpc1000 is definately somethin to be missed goin mpc2kxl... i wouldn't combine the two, i'd rather an mpc60+mpc1000 that'd work best:-)

Yeah, I miss the little bugger. What I miss the most and the feature that I loved the most was being able to sample from the main outs. and being able to play your seq back while in sample mode.

That thing is HUGE!!! (MPC 60) I saw one for sale at a second hand music store. They wanted 1K for it. This was when I was undecided on what MPC I wanted(about 2 months ago), so I passed that up. Whats the going rate for a MPC 60? The 3000 and the 60 are pretty much the same right, but the 3K is smaller?

umm.....about a 60 and 3000 being the same......

60= 12 bit sampling, max 2.5mb sample ammount (i think). BIG!
3000= 16 bit sampling, max 32mb sample ammount. BIG!,

seriously, dont get confused that they are the same thing.... there are some major differences between those units....

Thanks man, that would be cool if I could get the black one, but I'll take a blue one for a few hundred bucks cheaper though. I could buy the black casing from vst's website later if I wanted to make it black.

the mpc60 and mpc3000 are evening about the same price.

the 3000 imho is going to get less desirable. it doesn't have any really defining sound. people try n say it does, but it's just another 16 bit sampler... the 60 will stay up there with it's 12 bit...it's got a sound u can only get with it. the mpc3000 will unfortunately date itself:-(

mpc1000 is dope, i've been **** with mine a bit the last 25 hours 'ive had it, but somtitimes the sound quality gets to me. I miss my mpc60(i have it unhooked up in the corner cuz i gotta sell it:-( )

Im sure you are tracking out to a mixer.

Why not just run the out from the mixer through a vintage channel strip? I do remember the 1000 having a very clean sound.

MPC 1000 at Guitar Center.

the 3000 goes for about 1100, the 60 for 600-700, I have a 3000 and a 1000. the 3000 has its own sound and much better a/d converters than anything that came out after. I would have sold it if it didnt cause it doesnt have the features that the 1000 has. if I put the same sounds in both it sounds more cheesy in the 1000, not as bad as the 2kxl. with that said I use the 1000 90% of the time
