WRONG FILE!

i get this message a LOT.i dont know wtf is wrong with my mpc but everytime i try to load vcertain samples the error pops up WRONG FILE...wtf is this shit?

usually happens if the .wav file is not in 16 bit 44khz or its a mp3 or some other shit.

yeah u gotsta CHECK EVERYTHING before u load or transfer samples. at one point i coudnt understand why my wav files wouldnt load..it was cuz they were in 24 bit and not in 16 bit..to clear things up for ya self use app called switch..it convert anything to 44.1 khz 16 bit

Hi eveyone; this post is for the group but also specifically for Pony Down:

I downloaded SWITCH after reading your response, as I was having the same kind of problem as everyone else with the 16 vs. 24 bit thing. But here's what's happening to me:

I will take a sample that is on my desktop and drag it into the SWITCH app. The file I'm dragging is .WAV, but an MPEG Layer-3 and not PCN format. So I use the application properly and make all the correct settings to convert the sample into PCN audio format, 16 bit, 44.1 kHz (I use an MPC1000.) When I do this, I select to have the new (adjusted) file OVERWRITE the original file on my desktop.

Well, finally, I click on "CONVERT" and seconds later, all seems okay. But here's the clincher: When I Right-click the file on the desktop and go to the PROPERTIES section, the file THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CONVERTED still reads, in the details tab, MPEG-3, ****kbps, 24bit...etc. It's as though the conversion has not taken place at all, and the MPC still will not read/load/play the file. I love SWITCH so much that I would buy it in a second, but only if I can get over this strange hurdle.

If anyone has some advice for me it will be dearly appreciated.
