Programmin mpc1k to RECORD midi chords FROM a keyboard

Been pondering this.
I want to play in chords (midi) on a keyboard.
ie. record midi events from a keyboard into my sequence
(synths, strings and stuff)

started to make a few multisample programmes of vintage synth and stuff.. LONg!!

has anyone got any advice or even any already set up empty programs?!?
or is there an app that do this? or anything!
this is bugging me, I really wanna start banging chords into my sequence using a keyboard, witrhout having to program for an hour first!

then set up reason to sync your keyboard up and use thier samples/refills

which part is taking long, recording the many samples, or mapping them to pads on the mpc?

there are several products to help with the former...
i guess bluebox is as good as it gets for the latter, although as many have pointed out, mpc1k isn't very efficient for creating/managing melodic multisamples.

Hypes, are you suggesting I have Logic as the slave or the MPC as the slave??

But it would also be nice to play chords with sounds that are in the MPC. Guess I need to sweat it out and make some progs for that!

you could pick up a real cheap akai rack sampler. most of the models make multisampling WAY easier than on a 1k.
ive been multisampling a yamaha cx5m into the 1k, but gave up, the tuning and note mapping is shit on the 1k. I got a 3000xl in a cupboard, might dig it out.....

have logic as master, mpc as slave. that works in terms of SYNC
but when it comes to sequencing just make sure that your midi signal comes out of the mpc to what ever is playing the sounds.
also having your midi keyboard playing into your mpc, so u can record the midi events.
