Spilled Beer!? :(

What would you do if you spilled a little bit of beer on your MPC, right near the record/overdub play buttons and a little on a few of the pads? It really pissed me off/freaked me out and wasn't sure what to do, so I unplugged it quickly and wiped it off and let it chill for a bit. I used it about 20 minutes later just to see if it would turn on and work, and it did, but I am still kinda bummed out about it. Do you think anything could possibly happen, or what I should do, just let it be and dry out? GRRRRR!

take off the top cover, and check beneath to see if there's any liquid still inside. i wouldn't recommend using the mpc until you've checked inside.

turned it over so it would go to the circuits...but then again there r circuits everywhere

rule number 1 : no brew near the MPC!

turn it upsidedown! let ir chill out and dry for a good while. if you try to use it too soon it'll fry the board/chip/circuits or whatever can get fried in there

oh and stop dancing around the mpc when you got ya beer in ya hand!!

I ALWAYS have a brink when I'm making beats but I keep it as far away from my equipment as possible. Spilled beer, tea, Pepsi etc... thats my worst nightmare! Try to take it apart and dry it out. If it was a sizeable amount of liquid, chances are 2 to 3 days later you could be makin a beat and it could shift and some liquid could hit your circuits... bzzzzz. You wouldn't want to take that chance.

yea, after it happened, all of us chillin around music equipment made that rule, no more booz on the same table as music equipment. plus, i feel from now on, making music or trying to rap while youre drinking or already drunk doesn't really work. your flow is always mad offbeat and you can't think of good beats. if im a little bit high or on vic's tho im cool and can bang out some cool stuff.

its been a couple days not using the mpc so i think its prolly dry by now, i definitely dont want to open the thing up, im never comfortable with doing that...so...hopefully ill just get lucky and it works just like new.

its nothing to open it up and take a look.

Open it. And in the future, do not turn it on until you make sure it's clean. Liquids will fry it in an instant if they are in the right place. If you do it again, i'd wait atleast accouple of days after you open it up, clean, and let it air out before you start it up.
