updated os, blank screen?

screen went blank, so instead holding down shift and moving data wheel to fix the contrast I reinstalled the OS again thinking it'd fix the issue. Now I gotta adjust the contrast each time it's powered on and get no sound outta the akai, when hit play button to play one of the presets I get static noise coming out...what's the deal ?

EDIT: did EREASE on power on, fixed everything back to normal
