if i have mine connected to a pc all the time, will there be any reason to get 128mb ram or a hard drive...or any other upgrades? is the ram upgrade a must like it seems some are saying?

Ram is way more important than a hard drive.

Id def say get the 128mb upgrade. The hard drive will be up to you to decide. Both are up to you to decide but i think u should get the max so u can have more sample time and if u are ever just using the mpc alone u can resample and do more.
