MPC1000 painting help needed

Hey guys, I plan on painting the 1000 sides and memory card slot frame today the same color gray as the jog wheel, but I am wondering from those who have already painted their memory card slot frame, what exactly is the best method to remove it from the mpc so I can paint it?
