the 2500 has the Direct Recording feature... but im certain the 1000 can at least sample during playback?

id like to know if, for example, i can run my keyboard/module's outputs into the 1000's inputs, and be able to record the audio from a sequenced track? like if im using a synth where i have limited voices to work with, i can sequence it, get it how i want in the track, then record that riff and assign it to a pad, thus freeing up the synth to do other things while keeping that audio in the mpc?

Isn't that just normal sampling?

Direct Recording lets u record right along with the sequence so when u done its done and u just put it on the pad so its saved to the MPC.

The 1000 is not capable of doing that but u can sample regular then assign it to a pad then play that into your sequence but as my buddy(lampdog) said thats just regular sampling.

Why not just try it? You will probally find out quicker if its possible if u sit down and actually try it. Sweetie I dont feel like holding hands tonight.

Beat me to it. IF you have the gear and everything you need, why don't u just try it, try it a couple of different ways. Don't be scared of trial and error.
