Sequencing quarter notes

How do you sequence (step sequence) quarter notes without using real time? The manual doesn't tell you how to and when I try it only does it in whole notes and I can't seem to find the place to change the values. Thanks!

if i understand you correctly i would say in step edit , menu where it says duration of recorded notes its set to 100% , just change the percentage to your needs and of course make sure TC is set to 1/16 or 1/8 , which ever you desire
