First and foremost, i'm a search engine fiend, and i've looked all around and not seen anything covering this question.

Anyways, i've loaded all my samples to my cf card, but I don't like the idea of not being able to preview my drums WHILE i listen to the sample being looped. I always make my drums after the sample or watever. The other thing is I can't hear how the drums sound next to each other while they're playing, so i have to keep going back to the load screen and back. Is there a faster way of going about this?

And yes I kno i can get a harddrive, but that is out of the question right now.

also, if i have a 2 bar loop, and i only want to play a one bar drum, can i still play them together?

if you have a computer as part of your setup you can do it like i do it....

ill lay my samples out how I want them to sound (or at least for a starting point)

then play the sequence and let it keep playing WHILE i look for drums on the computer. that way I can hear what drums sound good over the sample.

then when I find one/some that do sound good, ill send the to a disk. then when I have all the drums I need, ill go and begin to load them into the mpc.

I always do it like this: Load for example all snare sounds in question, record the snare, then go to program mode and scroll through the loaded sounds while playing the seq.
