Mpc 1000 bk harddrive not fitting

seems you need the hdm-10 adapter to fit your hdd in.
i thought this was standart option for the black mpc 1000?

where i bought it said "AKAI MPC1000 Black AKAI MPC1000 Black ,MIDI Production Workstation, includingHDM-10 HD-Mountingkit"

but i dont think i got it so no?

did you purchase the hd kit? maybe you got it with the box but it is not mounted, look if you dont have it in the box

it cannot be already mounted actually, because you'll have to screw your hd to the metal tray (metal tray = HDM-10 kit) before you put the whole thing in your mpc

it is a small metal case, and you put the harddisk into it, and then only you can put the whole thing in the mpc

on top of that, you don't need to unscrew the whole mpc. the only thing you have to remove is the front cover (where you plug the footswitches and headphones and the cf card -> that rectangle can be removed), then just slide the tray with harddisk drive into the slot that you will find here

I've already read about ppl having to install the HDM-10 on their *black* joints. I'm actually about to receive one on Mon./Tue. [sht is wack, cuz i'm in Beantown, and it's gettin sent from Rhode Island!! (it's been nearly a month now.)

So yeah, akaipro.com even says that it's a STANDARD accessory. But a quick gander in the manual begs to differ. It indicates that only a lonely 32MB CF card is included.

you get it in the package, but it is not mounted
seems quite logical to me...

It looks like you got the wrong hard drive dude..You have the mk8025gas, when it should be MK8026GAX for the 80 gig...

wrong

gax is 5400rpm
gas is 4200rpm


nothing to do with wrong harddrive
