Still problems with pad glue?

Has anyone who has purchased a new MPC1000 since January had problems with pads failing? I'm thinking about picking up one of these in the next few weeks and I'm wondering if this problem still exists.

I was messing around with a unit at the store yesterday and it felt pretty sturdy overall. A nice weight to it. The 2500 was side by side with it, and their weren't any striking differences in terms of build quality.

The problems I did see on the 1K were that the sliders felt really flimsy and I can definitely see where people would have problems with buttons breaking. Someone once posted on here that their TV remote control has better buttons and they were spot on with that comment. They should have used hard rubber or something with a bit more play rather than that rigid plastic.

Has anyone had problems with the sliders?

i've read of one or two slider problems, but i have never had any issue with the sliders. i even took my slider tops off and just use the metal nubbin underneath, i feel it has a better accuracy that way. the only reason the slider feels flimsy is due to the plastic handle.

as for buttons, never ONCE an issue. in my opinion, they're sturdy as hell. it takes a lot of blunt force trauma to **** with them. here and there you hear of someone messing with broken buttons, but it's real rare.

as for pads, the newer batch of pads have better glue from VST, so i assume the newer batch of mpcs have the new pads. it's no concern either way - if you ever have a broken pad, it's so easy to fix it back to 100%

so go get yourself an mpc1000

I went and looked at the 1000 and 2500 again today. Just not enough features on the 2500 to make me want to pay twice the price.

Considering I'm new to the MPC, I think the 1000 will be a good first machine for me.

BTW, I have your album on my Ipod. I was checking it out on my flight back to the States the other day. Nice work.

yeah in today's age, depending on the rest of your studio, the 1000 could easily be the only mpc you need.

agree on dat the mpc 1000 has everythin u need to make a nice beat ....
