Hi, everyone;

I am wondering if someone can tell me if it's possible for me to transfer 3 songs' worth of sequence data form my old Alesis MMT-8 INTO my brand new MPC1000, as MIDI data or SYSEX data ...etc. This would be great, as I would not have to take out the MMT-8 anymore, but of course, I would want the sequences to play identically to how they play from the MMT-8 once in the MPC. Anyone know if I can do this sort of thing?

Thanks for any assistance you can give me 8)

The MPC1000 will read MIDI files now if it will play as u played it in the Alesis is a matter of having the sounds accessible in the mpc1k that was used to create the MIDI file. Best bet is to use them both together via MIDI or record those patterns or songs to a computer program and load them in the MPC1000.

(mpc1k users correct me if im wrong.)

Thanks a lot ....the Alesis sequencer has no sounds in it --- it plays sounds from 2 other modules. All I want to do is TRANSFER the MIDI data from the ALESIS, via MIDI cable, to the MPC1000. My intention is to have the MPC1000 play the sounds off the same external devices that the ALESIS would play ... the MPC1000 will not be playing any of its internal sounds from these (old Alesis) sequences. Is that a little more clear?

I guess I would want to do a MIDI Bulk Dump from the Alesis sequencer to the MPC? Let me know what you think.
