return it. it appears that that 1k will not accept this specific model of ram. go to the sticky thread on top of the forum and look for the specs and model number of the Kingston Value Ram that Antonym and others are using. You'll have no problems with it and it's roughly around $40.

go to http://www.bestbuy.com and see if they carry it. then use their store locator to find which locations have them in stock. that always saves me the hassle whenever i have to go there. i have 2 locations nearby, so whenever one store doesnt have something in stock, the other usually does.

I'm having this exact problem.

The RAM i purchased was listed in the recommended RAM thread.

Kingston PC133 Low-Profile SODIMM CL3

KVR133X64SC3L/256

Can anyone help please? This is very frustrating. Not even sure that i can get a refund.

Version 2.10

Should I install an older OS and try the memory again?

By berlerac Fri Nov 24, 2006 5:46 am
I just downgraded to OS 1.07 and still no luck.

The boot fails at 49% on Pass 1.

Any ideas? Should I try using a JJ OS?

It's got nothing to do with the OS at all. The ram is bunk. Return it and buy one that works.

Shoot. Now after reinstalling 2.10 I can't see anything on the screen.

HELP!

Ok so I just used the search function and solved the prob by pressing SHIFT and turning the DATA wheel.

Damn that was strange.

And my problem with the memory still stands. Since the specs work out, I guess that the RAM is faulty in some way. I find this hard to fathom considering I bought it sealed and new.

Should I shell out for the AKAI RAM?

Any suggestions?

It's going to cost me at least $33 not including shipping just to get the RAM tested. It cost me $90 Australian to purchase. Not good.

Has anyone else had problems with this particular type of RAM?

Any chance i could have arsed the RAM with static electricity?
