I'm not new to production, just the MPC.. and this board :D
I'm sure my question are pretty "newb" but I could use some help.

1. First off, How do I clear my 'internal' memory? I have had all these sounds that I assume came with the mpc on there, and I would like to remove them just to start clean and not have all these sequences already on my MPC.

2. How do I figure out how my total memory I have left on my card?

3. How do i set the slider to set start and end points of a sample (i saw this on a video, and was told to hold the shift and use the slider in TRIM mode, but its not working for me..)

4. How do I divide a sample into regions? Does this only work when recording a sample? I want to do it with a sample that I loaded..

5. Do i need to update my OS? How do I do that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to turn off the auto load function by hitting mode then the load pad. From here hit the window key and turn auto load function off. You might also have to purge the samples. And as long as you have the updated OS you just program a sample to a pad that you wanna divide (chop) into regions and press mode then the trim pad. And then you wanna press the chop key and select how many regions you wanna chop the sample into. You then can change the start/stop time of each individual region and extract regions as new samples. Hope this helps.

Update OS....

1. Go to akaipro.com and you will find the 2.1 update.
2. Download it.
3. Plug in USB and save the downloaded update to your CF Card.
4. power off MPC
5. power back on MPC and immediately press and hold the Window button.
6. The MPC reads the card, sees the OS, and asks if you want to replace the current one. Hit the Record button for yes (I think it is this button).

Or download the OS 3.0 (plenty of links for this can be found on the site) and then do steps 2-6.

If Im wrong then Im a bastard.

Of course I didn't REALLY mean what I said. I am sometimes reluctant to ask a question for fear of being bashed by someone.

getting bashed?

pfft. bash me.
im trying to learn.
i dont mind learning off of others.
i dont see any problem in that.
thats the problem with the music (dj, producing) world these days.
nobody wants to share their knowledge.

i'm not sure if you checked already, but akaipro.com has the manual (assuming you must've gotten the MPC used)
