beginner question: connecting MPC to PC

Hi there,

I finally have a MPC1000 (!), but theres something really stupid I dont understand: I connected my MPC to my PC with a USB cable but somehow my PC doesnt automatically recognize the MPC. 'No new hardware' found so to speak. Does anybody know how I can make my PC recognize the connection with my brand new sampler?

press mode>load> then usb tab. it should work, you should hear some kind of sound on your computer. then check "my computer" then the usb drive should appear

if you have JJ's version you can mount a virtual drive on your pc but either way you should see it in your removable storage area.
