mpc + turntable/mixer into PC setup

So I now have my turntables/mixer hooked into my MPC1000 able to record. I have everything hooked into my computer's soundcard.

My issue is I am only able to hear my turntables when I set my mpc to record.

Is there a way to be able to hear my turntables by just turning my MPC on? Or is setting to record my only option?

Do i need to purchase a soundboard/soundcard in order to get everything hooked up correctly?

can i not have my tables hooked into my mpc and coming playing through my soundcard?

go MODE->Mixer F5 (input)
turn Input Thru to ON
now u can hear it ..and record it whenever you want while the beat is playing.. in track 61-64
