Midi file from 1000 to reason

When I save a beat in mpc 1000 as a midi file and try to load the midi file in reason 3.0.5, it says "unknow exception" in reason. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I use reason as a sound module now, but I would still like to be able to drop the midi information from those sounds back into reason.

Midi file should go into your sequencer.

Why would you be putting a midi file in reason if you use reason as a sound module?
