so i want to sample from my pc since i have lots of music on there but the monitors are coming from the pc soundcard so i can only listen to my mpc on headphones at the moment which isnt good at all. what can anyone suggest so i can sample from the pc and monitor the mpc and the pc at once ?

my soundcard is only a standard piece of crap with 1 stereo out so it's either the monitors plugged in or my mpc for sampling. if i plug a mixer in i still have to get audio from the pc into the mpc and monitor both of their outs *hope that wasnt too confusing*

why not just plug the out from the pc to the mpc then plug your headphones into the headphone jack on the mpc?

Why not just buy a small inexpensive 2 in 1 out adapter plug for your soundcard output?

You know, a "Y" cable so you can split the signal out to monitors AND mpc.

I have a "bag o tricks" that I keep in my closet for such situations.

What I did one day was I went to Radio Shack and bought up about $20-$30 of adapters and plugs just in case something like your situation came up. I've had some of the adapters and plugs for years now with no problems at all. Very few of them have been replaced since the initial buy and they all are great to have around when you need them. I'd advise everyone o do the same..
