when you chop stuff using zones it automatically makes it mono using only the left side.

its a known issue so thats why no one is answering your post and it keeps getting locked.

ok so why does it happen with mono samples also?

i had my mpc a week and noticed this as well..,,it really sucks havin to chop each zone by hand and assign them to the pads manualy but its the only simple way around this. I stoped usin the autoslice function becasue of this. Im also not sure why others dont make more of a fuss about it, cause its a pretty serious issue to me...i love the autochop but cant use it because of this....I guess everyone else is just used to manualy assignin stuff..

Thats what im saying - i cant belive people dont make a fuss over it its a joke.

Anyone know if this is the same using os 3 because everybody is raving about the new slice features but if this still happens i cant see how you could use it professionaly - if ever i use slice im always thinking **** if this sounds sick om gonna have to go back and re chop the samples at the exact points i choped them on the mpc in soundforge or some wave editor an then reload them......mission

anotym, lampdog anyone - I know a lot of you have got/used other mpc's is it the same on there or is it only an issue on the 1000? come on man somone answer my question and give me a reason to go buy another MPC cus if thats just how it is on the 1000ill be selling up

Yezzziirrr, that's why.

Also, you can use a wave editor to chop stuff up in zones/regions and import back into the mpc is you choose, that's one of the workaround for now. Also the software will keep your stuff stereo/mono whatever it was when you started.

yo lampdog did you read my last post?

Any chance you can answer the question bruv?? Does this problem exist on other MPC's or is it just the 1000 **** sake

I know you can use any waveditor before loading the samples and im well aware of the benifits that they may have.

To me anyway, that was the whole point of the 1000... its standalone and you could get down with that and that only. Its portable etc

I know there are workarounds... i know im only a member here :P but i know my shit... an to be honest a sampler that cant sample properly is **** pants - simple

I haven't touched a 1k since all these new things started coming out, even then it's been a long while.

I didn't know that you knew any workarounds, you didn't say so.

If you look at the times we posted up, you and I were typing/posting at the same exact time, so how was I supposed to read your post?

Do you know though?

All i want to know is does this happen on other MPCs... 4000 - 3000 - 2500 or whatever.

Put simply when you use slice (stero or mono samples) it **** up the sample quality

Does that happen on your 4000?

Nah man, It never happens on my 2kxlse2. I've never had that problem.

I have read MANY recent posts on the auto-slice thing on the 1k lately, that state that's just the way the auto slice and patched phrase work. They come out distorted and/or mono or something. There are a FEW threads about it, you are not the only one.

But when dealing with an unofficial OS what can you expect. In all fairness, even the official OS had problems I guess.

thats what im saying.. you cant complain about this on jj's os but for this to happen on 2.1....i think i might raise this in the comparison forum to try and fin out exactly which other mpcs this happens on or if its just the 1000.

its bull shit though enit - looks like its back to the recyle days for me until i decide what mpc to get next... i think i mught go back to os1.7

Instead of raising another thread like this, why don't you read up on the 2500 forum, cause I'm SURE I've seen this in there QUITE a few times.

This doesn't happen on the 2k/2kxl from what I know of.
Never heard or read about this on the 2k/2kxl/3k/3kle/60 i and ii either.

I've ONLY heard/read about this recently with 2500 and 1k.

Please read the threads on them. Most people don't care to reitirate themselves.

Cost

I know for sure that it does it in every other OS as well....It was a huge issue for me at first when I got my mpc, but i discovered that once you become quick with your fingers, its pretty easy to assign the slices one at a time. Its easy because it autonames each new section, and all you press is "Do It", then scroll over, hit "do It", and so on....After you do it a few times, you get used to the button presses, and can do it in only an extra few minutes.

Also, I believe I asked around if the other mpc's did this same thing, and If I remember correctly, i aws told that any unit with the autochop did the same thing. I just cant believe that this hasnt been corrected in the past. It makes your slices absolutly unuseable....
