is the mpc1000 swing as the old 60/3000 mpc?

Hi Guys i'm new here

sorry for the stupid question.. i do a search and find a lot of post for swing but i'm in mind to buy one mpc and so i'm curious to know from people that use it.....

is the quantize function of 1000 as the old 60/3000 or 2000?

i don't know the 60/3000, but i owned a 2000xl and the quantize function is the same.

I used to have a 3000 but cant remember if it had percentage quantize. It might have been preset like A, B, C, D, E. Even then tho the letters just stand for percentage presets, Like B would be 54.1% etc...

Basically all quantizing functions on an hardware or sequencer do percentage swing. The real difference is in the timing and how the machine/program plays that back. The magic of the old mpcs is not the actual way the notes are moved, its the timing of the sequencer.

i try to understand how it works... i know the ppqn are 96 in old akai (what about the new 1000 or 2500?) and in the common sequencer are 960 and this make the things more robotic....
however i hear some seq (digital performer) could reduce the ppqn , but mine Logic no
