Mute groups and targerts

I am working with some sample and I want to stop the playback on one sample when I play another. I have been messing around with the feature but its not working I go the pad B5 and go to Mute group 1 then mute target and seclect the pad or pads I want muted any help..

set the other sample to mute group 1 too... samples set to the same mute groups stop each other.
