just a small rant about a bug in mpc1000 patchphrasing

i know that majority of us stay far away from looping on our mpc1000 .alot of us sample small but what erks me when i decide to go looping is redoing ur patch phrase to original sample I GET THOSE DAMN CLIPS even wehn the patch phrase had to release to it. obviously this is a bug.but its not a problem for i never overwrite my samples with new ones. still though why would it be a feature if all rebuilding a patch phrasse do is **** up the sample? its a ritourical question dont answer. just wanna see how many of u guys wrote to akai bout this? and if not who do i write to at akai? . dont get me wrong i love the new features in os 2.1

I didn't write to Akai about it. I don't seem to get clips when I use patchphrase. To get patchphrase to work well, you MUST place your chops on the transients of the loop.

no no i know how to work patch phrase well. im talkn about when u rebuild ur patch phrase back to original sample it comes back with mad clicks.

so you put patch phrase on a sample, and now you want it original again?
use your head, man. instead of putting PP on the original sample, do instead a copy and put PP on that.
it'll cost you a tiny amount of memory.

you can always revert PPs, too, but i don't think that's what the man was trying to do...

honestly, i would suggest just chopping them and not PPing them. PP is just a halfassed chopping technique anyway - get control of your sample. chop that bad boy.

ya i never overwrite my original samples. even sounds i resample the original is still there and saved to another directory on my cf. im just talkn about the patch phrasing bein complete dookie on mpc1000. its a bug that it cant undo patch phrase at all correctly cause it slaughters the sample with clip errors where ur begining and end points used to be... its not even a real undo feature because u can choose a new tempo to get it not to be patchd phrased anymore.

i tested this for example cause i thought maybe its jsut my splicing that crucialy sucks. well it turnd out no. i cheated for this lil test i used fruityloops for its dead on accuracy. i took this 4 bar loop at 100bpm all nice and cut to perfectd persision.. (i cuttd by line) and put it in my cf card loaded it into my mpc then chopd it with the mpc slicer (mpc spliced this sample perfectly automatically dead on the start to end 16 regions of eliteness) then converted to pp and undo pp and still i get those clip errors even with a perfectly spliced loop . try it out guys so u can get a better understanding of what i mean. u know it be shitty if maybe im the only one with this problem. but ya im considering writting akai about this
