the mpc 1000 can't sync to pro tools? I was reading a review on mpc1000 vs mpc2000xl and it said that the mpc1000 doesnt have mtc.
It doesn't have MTC (yet). It does respond to MIDI clock.
There's a new third party OS for the 1000 that's currently under beta-testing. The first full release will allegedly include MTC. Check out the third party OS forum on this site.
