Is it possible to hook up my turntable (has built in phono preamp) right into my mpc1000? Will I be able to hear it through my headphones? or if I have the stereo outs going to the interface which has monitors connected? or do I have to have a dj mixer or somethin?

Yes try it and it will work.

Yes if your headphones are connected to the MPC.(u have to be in sample mode i believe to actually hear your TT play though the MPC-1k users confirm)

If you do it that way it will work also.

NO dj mixer required if your TT has an built in preamp already.

Word Of Advice:If you have access to all the equipment just give it a try then ask questions if u are still confused. You gotta learn by TRIAL and ERROR sometimes. And yes I know this is FORUM to ASK QUESTIONS but i mean why not help yourself out by at least TRYING.

If it has a built in phono preamp then go ahead and do it, why haven't you tried it already if you have the gear, lol. You could have answered your own question, lol.

On the 1K, you can either be in record mode to hear the TT, or (with OS 2.1 and above) you can turn on input monitoring - can't recall which menu contains that option, but the manual will tell you.
