switch single hit during play?

is possible to switch a single pad (bd, sn,...) during the playback from the memory card list in order to find the best sound to put in that kit??

MPC1000 Save an Load operations cannot performed with the sequencer playing. So the answer is no: no load while play, no audition while play, no save while play.

A pity, because it could be done (my Z8 sampler did it, I suppose the MPC4000 can do it, and what about the 2500?).

What you can do though, is to load in RAM as many sounds you want, and change the sample in PROGRAMME mode while the sequencer is playing, this is a workaround. After you're done, just purge all the unused samples.

but in that way you could switch the entire drum kit or only a single pad?

to switch (change) an entire kit you can simply change the programme to a new one. This can be done with sequencer playing. (in MAIN window, just highlight the programme field and turn the data wheel)

I said it already, here's what you should do:
in PROGRAMME mode, select one pad, put the cursor on the sample name, move the data wheel and different samples will scroll. This can be done while the sequencer plays so you can hear the new sample in your track as you select it.

the trick should be import in the memory first only thr kit and then importing sounds at once time... little boring but cool doing that away computer
