MPC 1K + USB=PC CRASH!!

to make a long story short, last nite for the first time i tried transferring files from my pc to the mpc memory/card memory. i accidentally deleted all the sounds that came with it, and i couldnt get my wav files to load properly. before i knew..no sounds were in the mp, i just gave up for the nite.

in the morning, windows wouldnt even load up. i eventually had to do a system restore from scratch. ive searched around for info. what could i be doing wrong. do i have to use bluebox??ive lost my DAW (pirated) and ALL my drums, and my breaks i chop from.i know it couod be ,many reasons for the pc failure. wheree can i find more in depth info on wav usb transfer??

as of now, i have NO sounds or drums on my pc, and NONE on my mpc..shits lame..

You shouldn't have to use bluebox. The manual tells you pretty much all you need to know (which isn't much) about .wav file transfer from PC to MPC.

I'm guessing that it's a coincidence that your PC went down at that time. If you're using stolen software, it's often not the most stable stuff in the world.

Try using a diffrent computer

but ive had the same stuff on this pc for a year...weird. and i only have 1 computer. i know its a rtfm thing sortof..but i followed the steps....now my pc is empty ...and so is the mpc...i swear ...if i had a gun right now

about the windows not starting up, did you have the mpc connected to the pc while powering up the computer? if you leave the usb cabel connected you will have problems like that...

1) I'd suggest getting a second hard drive in your computer that is separate from your OS for this very kind of thing. If your OS goes down you've still got your programs and samples and such. There are other benefits, but

2) Don't use cracks

3) You have to EJECT a USB device before physically unplugging it.

None of these can bring your dead machine back, but they'll prevent you from losing all your stuff again.

OH, and 4) BACKUP STUFF! BURN A DISK OF IT!

Dude...Most of all tho:
If you have a computer that u dedicate to using only as yer DAW and for music purposes DONT get on the internet with that thing!....Its just a good rule. The internet can help u attract sooo many problems to yer computer its not even funny.....Its possible u have a trojan dormant on yer computer and it possibly **** yer shit up all of a sudden. That shit happened to me before and i never hooked it back up to the net since....Even with firewall protection you still have to be super careful....I know this may not even be the cause of yer problem but its worth making note of.
