MPC1000 and Cubase

This is proberly a question that have been talked about a milion times, but I'm all new into cubase.

I have the midi cabels, but how do I make my MPC work togetter with cubase?

i just have cubase sl but in the manual there is a chapter called Setting Up MIDI, why not give that chapter a good read. i would think if you have sx or se or le there is a chapter similar in that one.
