do i need a mixer to use fantom sounds on my mpc? if so wat kind do i need? any suggestions?

are you trying to sample the fantom sounds into your mpc? or simply trying to trigger the sounds with the mpc and hear them simultaneously?

trigger sounds with mpc, basically using them simutaneously so i can make beats and save them into mpc and use its sequencer. i guess the same thing mannie fresh did in that video but he didnt have a mixer atleast i dont think he did.

then yes, you will need a mixer of some sort to be able to hear and control the levels of your gear simultaneously. it can be a simple 2 channel mixer, but get something with a few more channels so you'll be able to expand your studio when you buy more equipment in the future.

If you only need to hear the MPC and a Fantom, and you´re not fiddling with any extra outs on the fantom you can route the stereo out on the fantom to the Record in on your MPC and monitor both using the Input thru function.

that'll work just fine (with an amp and speakers). for the price, you can't go wrong.

in the meantime, try ryssen's suggestion above until you cop a mixer. the input-thru function definitely comes in handy for a few things.

thx for info guys. i jus ordered that and i already have expensive headphones so i dont need speakers right now.

cool. that'll hold you over till you add more gear. by the time you need another mixer, you can always chain that yamaha or even use it live with a minimal setup.
