Macbook Pro 17" and mpc 1000

aight yall i'm learnin my game readin this d*m manauls.. but won thing i don't understand is this..

how am i gonna connect the mpc 1000 to my macbook pro? I'm not talkin audio connections..

I'm talkin the macbook got ableton Live 5.02 on it and from my searches here i been readin how peeps be using computers in conjuction with they h/w.. but i tried going thru the tutorials that come wit live but its jus on how they program is used....


i also got a micron in dungoun but i aint' even closin to even touchin that bad boy yet..

let me know or point me in the right direction...

you're gonna need a MIDI Connection. try the M-Audio Uno, it's cheap( 30$). this will get your macbook and mpc talking the same language. set up a midi connection in your "Audio/Midi Prefrences" located in your utilities folder under applications. after that you have to set up the connection in Live. i dont use live so i dont know what the process is but it should be fairly simple.
